  6. Its midnight, this morning when I woke up I decided to that I was going to start fasting. My plan was to omit foods and drink liquids. I read the bible Romans 7 & 8. Around 3pm I ate solid foods. I spoke to a friend and advised me that fasting began today, honestly I had no idea. I knew it was soon but didn't know it started today. As a reflect on what happen today, the Spirit lead me to what was meant for me today. I will continue for the next 29 days lets encourage each other, pray & stay focused.

  8. Day one went great for me! I decided to omit lunch and spent that time reading and getting closer to God. I am motivated and determined to complete this.

This support system was a great idea and I'm sure I'll meed some words of encouragement in the days to come...especially the ones were we can only have water and 100% juice! ;-)

Stay motivated & focused...WE CAN DO THIS!

  9. Day one was ok. I originally decided to skip breakfast, but quickly realized that was not a good idea. I went to the gym early that morning and HAD to eat something afterward, because I had a headache from working out so hard on an empty stomach. I definitely skipped lunch though. I spent the time doing all I could to not think about eating LOL! I really struggled with taking time to read the Word and pray. I think I was really concerned about "how to start". This is my first time doing a true fast with a purpose. I got over my "fears of starting" and just talked to God. I asked Him to lead me during these 30 days and let me know exactly what He wants me to do. It worked :) I am more comfortable now! I'm excited to keep going! I am praying for everyone :)

  10. I'm so thankful that you have decided to do this to allow us the chance to motivate and encourage one another.

This is my first fast since being baptised on April 20th and I must admit that (as my friend calls me) a "babe in Chris" I was super excited being a new Christian, at having this opportunity to commune with and get closer to the Lord. I was so excited in fact, I woke up at 4:00 AM on day one and decided to skip breakfast. I read my scriptures, prayed, and then spent the rest of the morning catching up on my "read the bible in a year" readings. I really felt like that got my day off to a great start because even though I had a stressful day at work, I remained calm, focused, and in the spirit.

I praise God for EBC and all that you are doing in my life and that of my family.
