Day 19- Stewardship

We all have either said or heard the statement that "Time is money". It has become a creed for some and a statement that has evoked a sense of skepticism for others. So let us briefly examine this statement to see if it contains some valid principles.

Time is said to be a tangible object that can be used for either good or bad. The same is so for objects such as treasures and talents for they all share a common similarity in that they have been given to us all to be used properly. Additionally, we have been given these objects not only for ourselves but to better the lives of others around us.

Hence, we can conclude that we all have been entrusted with tangible goods since we have time, treasures, and talents. Are you using them wisely?

  1. Stewardship...what a big word! Much like accountability & responsibility, these words are often taken for granted. To be accountable, to be responsible, to be a good steward in the house of the Lord, means to be placed in high regard. The unfortunate part is that so many of us, SO MANY, from the greatest to the least don't realize the regard the words hold and therefore, allow ourselves to fall down and it makes me wonder if some of us will ever get up? Have any of you ever heard of that childrens game, "Follow The Leader?" Jesus Christ is our leader, the epitome of accountability, responsibility & stewardship...how many of us are really following the leader?

  2. This time of fasting & prayer has been a major test and a blessing! In all honesty my attempt has been flawed, in both areas, however I continue to fight the good fight! It's funny how a process can be both restrictive and expansive at the same time...WOW! I am amazed at how I'm already seeing tangible manifestations in my life ...faith, fitness, and finance, and not to mention a Godly-focus unlike anything I've experienced in the past. We have to be stewards over our decisions as well as our provisions and that's enogh to put everything we say and do in biblical perspective. God you are an awesome God and I thank you and praise your Holy Name! Thank ou for givng us an awesome leader and mighty man of valor in the person of Pastor Oliver. EBC lets be encouraged and not prideful!

  3. Ok I made it through this day, thank the lord, did some excercising and released some of the no food tension.

Akw I agree that stewardship is taken for granted. There are a lot of us not putting our gifts to good use. I was convicted this last year when Pastor was preaching about getting out of your boat. I blamed my lack of participation on being too busy, working too much and being burn out. What I didn't realize is that when I was using my gifts for the kingdom my additude was better. I let pass experience limit my participation because I was tired of the same outcome.

Last year I don't think I made it through a day of fasting and now I am close to the end and have learned a lot about myself. I know I can control my flesh, and I know that God will be there to give me the strenght I need to get through each day.

We saints continue to be strong in the Lord!!!
